The result is a restaurant scene that literally has no ceiling when it comes to what you can expect. You will find four and five star cuisine from every culture and every country on earth, not to mention the requisite Greek food that will knock your socks off. The hotel scene in Athens is as good as the restaurant scene. This city has been playing host to the world longer than most countries have been around, so it is safe to say that they know how to be good hosts. Service can be a bit on the gregarious side at times, but instead of being shocked, roll with the scene and don’t be afraid to raise your voice in unison. You will find a decent mix of Western style chain hotels and local favorites here and they all come with the same passionate service you’ve come to expect from Athens.
